Making Anbo

Anpo’s a rather fun word, isn’t it?
Anbo is a traditional and tasty food from Matsudai made by shaping rice flour into balls.
It’s mixed with yomogi (mugwort), and stuffed with red bean paste or pickles.
Create your own fun shapes.
Do your best to make good ones, as if you were a born and bred Matsudai local.

Rice Terraces Tour

The rice terraces in the Higashikubiki district are naturally-irrigated paddies, using rainwater and snow melt. They have been carefully protected by the locals over many years.
Through experiencing the rice terraces, working in them, you can learn how important protecting nature is to our future. This tour is for our overnight guests, and requires an early start.

Watching Fireflies

From mid June to early July, we offer tours to see fireflies for any interested overnight guests.
